Política Editorial

The Revista Nutrición Continua (RNC) is the official scientific journal of the Centro de Investigación y Nutrición Continua (CINC). Our mission is to disseminate high-impact scientific knowledge in the fields of health and nutrition through a management model that is transparent, agile, and deeply committed to academic excellence.

I. Focus and Scope

RNC publishes original research, reviews, and case reports that contribute to the advancement of clinical, sports, molecular, and public health nutrition. We aim to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical application, targeting researchers, healthcare professionals, and academics worldwide.

II. Section Policies

To ensure scientific rigor and quality, the journal accepts the following types of contributions:

  • Original Articles: Reports of primary research featuring robust methodologies.

  • Systematic Reviews: Critical syntheses with a clear methodology (preferably following PRISMA standards).

  • Clinical Case Reports: Presentations of unique clinical findings with documented informed consent.

  • Research Protocols: Registration of high-impact research methodologies prior to execution.

III. Editorial workflow and response times

We recognize that speed is essential in scientific communication. The Editorial Board is committed to the following management timeline:

Process Stage Responsible Party Maximum Deadline Expected Action
Preliminary Evaluation Editorial Team 5 business days Notification of peer review status or technical desk-rejection.
Review Acceptance Peer Reviewers 5 business days Confirmation of availability to evaluate the manuscript.
Technical Evaluation Peer Reviewers 15 business days Submission of the detailed academic report via the platform.
Decision Communication Editor-in-Chief 3 business days Delivery of final result (Accepted, Revisions, or Rejected).
Author Revisions Authors 7-10 business days Resubmission of the adjusted manuscript and response letter.

IV. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts (excluding editorials or book reviews) undergo a double-blind peer-review process. This ensures that the identities of both authors and reviewers remain strictly anonymous. Final decisions are based on originality, methodological soundness, and the clinical or scientific relevance of the findings.

V. Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy

The Revista Nutrición Continua is firmly committed to narrowing the gender gap in science. We recognize the importance of highlighting women’s leadership in nutritional research and actively promote equity throughout every stage of the editorial process.

To support this commitment, the journal encourages submissions where women hold leadership roles, either as lead authors or corresponding authors. Furthermore, the Editorial Board actively works to maintain a gender balance across our database of peer reviewers and within our own Editorial Council.

While RNC ensures that all works are evaluated solely on their scientific excellence, we monitor and report our participation metrics to guarantee that the journal remains an inclusive space that fosters the professional growth of women researchers.

VI. Open Access and Preservation

Revista Nutrición Continua (RNC) adheres to the Diamond Open Access model: no fees are charged for submission, processing, or publication (APCs). All content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. Authors retain their copyright and full publishing rights without restrictions.

To ensure long-term availability and digital archiving, the journal utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) and archives its content in LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems.
