DORA Declaration

At the Centro de Investigación y Nutrición Continua (CINC) and through our Revista Nutrición Continua, we are deeply committed to best editorial practices and scientific integrity. Therefore, we are proud to announce our official adoption of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA).

This adherence reflects our conviction that the quality and impact of research in the field of nutrition must be valued based on its own intrinsic merit, rather than on indirect bibliometric metrics or the journal impact factor where the research is published.

Our commitments as a scientific journal

In alignment with DORA principles, Revista Nutrición Continua commits to:

• Eliminate the use of journal-based metrics (such as the Journal Impact Factor) as a primary tool to evaluate the quality of individual research articles when considering them for publication.

• Value the scientific content of manuscripts above their place of publication or journal-level metrics.

• Encourage responsible citation practices, highlighting primary literature and the direct relevance of the generated knowledge, while discouraging artificial self-citation or the misuse of indicators.

• Broaden the spectrum of valued contributions, recognizing the diversity of research outputs (open data, software, methodologies, educational resources) and the distinct contributions of authors in collaborative articles through the implementation of standard taxonomies such as CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy).

• Promote transparency and accountability in our editorial processes and peer review workflows.

We invite our authors, reviewers, readers, and the broader international scientific community to join us in upholding these principles. The management and mobilization of knowledge in nutrition require equitable, transparent evaluation systems focused on the true social and scientific value of research findings.
